Mesquite powder is obtained by drying and grinding pods of the mesquite deciduous tree which grow in the high desert plains of Peru and Mexico. Being a great superfood Mesquite is also high in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc. It has a low glycemic index and is suitable for diabetics.
Mesquite powder has a natural sweet nutty-caramel flavor which makes it perfect for use as a sweetener in smoothies, various drinks, cakes, desserts and other confectionery. It can fully replace flour as a gluten-free alternative. Suggested use is 1 tablespoon per day without any maximum dosage limit.
